Launch of the SecretariatThe University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law officially launched the Secretariat of the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law, on Monday, October 23rd, 2006 at the National Gallery of Canada. Academy co-Directors and Faculty professors Jamie Benidickson and Ben Boer, and Program Coordinator is Dr. Maria Laura Barreto along with Common Law section Dean Bruce Feldthusen and Droit Civil Dean Nathalie Des Rosiers, welcomed delegates from over thirty countries attending the Seventh Annual Global Conference on Environmental Taxation. Deans Feldthusen and Des Rosiers, on behalf of the University of Ottawa, warmly welcomed the Secretariat, lauding the work done to date and ensuring the University’s commitment to assisting the Secretariat for the years to come.
