On April 19 and 20 as well as the morning of April 21, 2007 IUCN Academy of Environmental Law will hold a research workshop at the Faculty of Law of the University of Ottawa.
Representatives of Academy institutional members from different parts of the globe, of non-governmental organizations, of sponsoring agencies as well as environmental law scholars have been invited to this event. The aim of the workshop is to identify areas of concentration and to develop a three to four year research program for the IUCN Academy of Environmental Law, with a particular emphasis on developing countries. In doing so, we want to contribute to, reinforce and support research initiatives already identified in the IUCN\'s overall Environmental Law Program. The deliberations of this workshop will serve as the basis for the elaboration of a research program proposal to be submitted to the Governing Council of the Academy for adoption. Once finalized, the research program would be carried out by collaborating member institutions of the Academy, with coordination and input from the Secretariat as necessary. |
