2011 Scholarship in Environment and Sustainability
The IUCN Academy of Environmental Law is pleased to announce that Ms. Semie Memuna Sama is the recipient of the inaugural Scholarship in Environment and Sustainability of the Academy.
Semie Memuna Sama
Semie Memuna Sama holds a Bachelor of Law from Buea University (Cameroon), a Master of Science from Mid Sweden and Stockholm Universities (Sweden) and has currently enrolled in the Master of Environmental Law program at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law.
Ms. Sama served on the executive councils of the University of Buea Law Society and Faculty of Social and Management Sciences Students Association. She also served on the executive council of the Association of Cameroonians in Östersund (Sweden)—2008. Semie has considerable experience as an environmentalist and a legal researcher. She speaks and writes English, French and Swedish.
IUCN Academy Scholarship Prize -- 2011
The IUCN Academy is launching the 2011 Scholarship Prize. This Prize recognizes outstanding scholarly achievements by individuals in Academy member institutions. Prize recipients will be announced at the Ninth Colloquium in South Africa in July 2011.We encourage all members to submit a nomination for a colleague in your institution, your region or in another region of the world. The deadline for nominations is 28 January 2011.
