A seminar on Transboundary Aquifers and International Law: The Experience of the Guarani Aquifer System will be held 31 August 2010 at the University of Surrey, Guildford (UK).

The seminar is part of the Environmental Regulatory Group project on "The Environmental Protection of the Guarani Aquifer: A Legal Perspective" and it contributes to the UNESCO-IHP ISARM (Internationally Shared Aquifers Resource Management) Programme (http://www.isarm.net/). The seminar will constitute the official launch of the Surrey Centre on the Regulation of Transboundary Aquifers (SCERTA)

The IUCN Academy announces its Call for Nominations for the 2010 Scholarship Prizes. This second year of Prizes will be announced at the Colloquium taking place at Ghent University, Belgium, in September 2010. The Prizes recognize the scholarly achievements of individuals within the Academy's member institutions. The deadline for nominations is 30 April 2010.

The Academy's Eighth Colloquium will take place September 13 - 17, 2010 in Ghent, Belgium, hosted by Ghent University's Centre of Environmental Law and Energy Law. The theme of the meeting will be Linkages between Biodiversity and Climate Change. This theme builds on the work done previously by the Academy on issues related to climate change as well as recognizing the 2010 International Year of Biodiversity. The deadline for submission of abstracts for the Colloquium is May 17, 2010.
